When a school goes on a field trip, one of the kids causes some trouble and interferes with history, causing a change in history as we know it. We meet different historic figures such as DaVinci and Hamilton and witness history in the making.

Welcome to Thyme Travel Tours, where the past isn't history; it's your next vacation destination! Today, another adventurous group is about to take the trip of a lifetime.

Tina

Hello! Welcome to Thyme Travel Tours where not only do you get to time travel but at the end of your stay, you get to take home a bundle of thyme.

Billy

Why?

Tina

What?

Billy

Why would we want to take home a bundle of thyme?

Tina

Well aren’t you just a ray of sunshine? ahaha. Awkward silence…

Tina

Any questions before we begin?

Billy

What happens if we touch something?

Tina

Just the usual. Minor changes to the timeline, disappearance of historical figures, the end of the world. Nothing worth noting.

Billy

Right…

Tina

Shall we begin?

Narrator

Their first stop: Florence, 1500s—— where Leonardo Da Vinci is currently painting. The tourists arrive being careful not to bring any attention to themselves. They watch carefully as Da Vinci sets up his easel.

Leonardo Da Vinci

Ay Lisa, I want you to pose like a this.

Tina

Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing a historical painting in the making.

Leonardo Da Vinci

No, no, no, like a this Billy rejoins the group after searching for a water fountain

Billy

Billy

MONAA.. you’re mom wants you to come downstairs, she said you shouldn’t be posing for strange men named Da Vinci. Mona Lisa scurries on down the stairs

Leonardo Da Vinci

Ay Ragazzi, what have you done?? My muse has left. Now you must pose for me.

Billy

Cool.

Tina

NO! You can’t alter the course of history. It’ll erase these people from the books!

Billy

Oh.. Uh.. (whispers in a poor attempt) Mona… Come back…

Tina

Oh, forget it. Come on everyone, we must head to our next destination.

Leonardo Da Vinci

Billy

Next Stop: Zurich, 1905——— a wondrous time to be alive and do some very hard thinking according to Albert Einstein.

Isn’t life just great. (thinking out loud) I’m using more than 2% of brain and I’ve figured out my signature hair style.

Billy

What exactly are we watching?

Tina

Time travelling through history doesn’t always mean we get the interesting parts…

Albert Einstein

I think I’ll go for an ice cream after I figure out this equation.

Billy

Never thought I’d have something in common with Albert Einstein.

Tina

You like science?

Billy

No. I like ice cream. ALBERT E= MC^2 Which means energy and matter are the same thing in different forms.

Tina

We’ve just learnt about matter before Albert even went public with this discovery! Fascinating, isn’t it?

Billy

You know miss… If I’ve learned anything from science class, it’s that it doesn’t really MATTER!

Billy

Albert Einstein

It doesn’t really matter.

Billy

Woah Einstein, I was just kidding.

Albert Einstein

No. It’s true. All this work, just for children to ignore my theories in science class and sit on their phones all day. Everyone looks around in confusion and awkwardness.

Albert Einstein

I’m assuming.

Billy

Right… But Mr. Einstein, your theories are very important in the future.

Albert Einstein

Billy

I’m from the future.

Tina

Okay! That’s enough chatter! We should get going.

Billy

And your hair isn’t really IT in the future. If you know what I mean.

Albert Einstein

So you’re telling me that my theories are important in the future but my hair isn’t IT.

Billy

That would be correct, yes.

Tina

That’s quite enough, Billy.

Albert Einstein

Well if my hair cannot be appreciated in the future, neither can my theories! I QUIT!

Tina

Albert Einstein

Tina

Oh boy, this is bad. Let’s get going before we cause another identity crisis.

Narrator

Wow, that was something. Next stop: New York, 1780—— where Alexander Hamilton was writing like he was running out of time.

Billy

Who’s that?

Alexander Hamilton

My name is Alexander Hamilton. There’s a million things I haven’t done but just you wait.

Tina

Billy

Yeah, I figured.

Alexander Hamilton

I’m just like my country. I’m young, scrappy and hungry.

Billy

Tina

Billy

Why are we at a shooting range?

Tina

I’m not sure.

Alexander Hamilton

(Prepares to shoot) I’m not throwing away my shot!

Billy

Huh… so that’s why he says that.

Tina

A little less… meaningful…

Billy

You’re work is amazing Alexander sir.

Alexander Hamilton

I probably shouldn’t brag, but dag, I amaze and astonish.

Billy

How did you write that many essays?

Alexander Hamilton

Immigrants… we get the job done.

Billy

Oh, and your duel with Aaron Burr was crazy. Sad way to go…

Alexander Hamilton

I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory. Is this where it gets me, on my feet, several feet ahead of me? I see it coming, do I run or fire my gun or let it be? There is no beat, no melody.

Billy

Oh… right. That hasn’t happened yet.

Alexander Hamilton

Narrator

Okay…Next stop: England, 1666. A significant year, especially if you’re Sir Isaac Newton.

Tina

Billy

Why is he thinking out loud?

Isaac Newton

(Breaking intense thought)

Isaac Newton

All the greats do it. (Looks around) Oh it’s getting dark, what time is it?

Billy

Time for you to get a watch. hahahaha

Isaac Newton

My thoughts are getting intense. I am thinking hard now.

Tina

Any second now…

Narrator

(Apple begins to fall from the tree) Look at that apple go!

Billy

Look out! ( catches the apple ) That was a close one. TINA OH. MY. LANTA

Isaac Newton

Hey! That was supposed to fall on my head.

Tina

That was supposed to fall on his head.

Billy

Why would you want an apple to fall on your head?

Tina

Tina

(Eye twitching) He’s supposed to discover gravity.

Isaac Newton

Wait. What was that called?

Billy

Isaac Newton

That thing you did.

Billy

Destroyed the course of history?

Isaac Newton

No. The motion you did to retrieve that apple with your hands.

Billy

I caught it.

Isaac Newton

Catching… (Thinking) That’s a great discovery! I’m going to call it GRAVITY!

Billy

Tina

Narrator

Ah…Our final destination before we head back to headquarters. Newfoundland, 1912—— The titanic.

Jack

Narrator

As they return back to present day, Tina is grateful to finally be somewhere history can’t be changed. Well… changed any further. Leonardo Da Vinci never ended up painting the Mona Lisa, he painted the Mona Billy instead. Albert Einstein gave up on matter and wore his hair in a slick back from then on.

Narrator

Alexander Hamilton remained young, scrappy and hungry but Lin Manuel Miranda didn’t write a musical about it. Isaac Newton had everyone saying gravity that ball. And neither Jack nor Rose made it out alive. So Thyme Travel Tours has shut down for good, because sometimes, the best way to appreciate history is to simply read about it. …And if you’re wondering what happened to Billy… Well he collected his bundle of thyme and went home with a copy of the Mona Billy.
