Well there’s no news in that. He’s been dyin’ ever since I knowed him.
AMBER
He’s coughin’ up blood again. With a sigh of affliction, Hardin gets up. IN THE FRONT ROOM Hardin touches Hovington’s forehead and then wipes the cold sweat onto his trousers.
AMBER
You reckon he needs a doctor?
HARDIN
Undertaker more like it. He walks away, out the door and onto the porch, where he lights a cigarette.
